Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to the Wild

Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation in El Nido. After a 40-minute drive north, you’ll reach the small port where your boat awaits. The ride to Linapacan takes around three hours. A scenic journey through island-dotted waters where sightings of dolphins and pilot whales are not uncommon, so keep your eyes on the horizon.

When you arrive at camp, take your time settling in. Wander the beach, go for a swim, or test your skills in a game of beach volleyball or chess. Or do nothing at all - a shaded hammock is never far away.

As dusk falls over the island, look up! You’ll likely catch a glimpse of the giant flying fox - a fruit bat with a wingspan of up to 1.7 meters, gliding quietly from palm to palm. Oh, and don’t worry, they stay in the treetops. Once night fully arrives, the stars take over - bright, unfiltered, and endless above one of the darkest skies you can imagine.

We recommend starting the day early. Whether it's to catch the sunrise or simply to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee before breakfast. After eating, get ready for a full day on the water. Pack your beach essentials: mask and snorkel, hat, and sunscreen, you’ll need them.

Today’s adventure takes you island hopping through the clear waters of Linapacan. Along the way, we’ll cruise past the postcard-worthy beaches of Spanish Port, where sea turtles are often spotted gliding beneath the surface.

At Ile Island, you’ll explore Señora Cave, a hidden gem with dramatic limestone formations and cathedral-like caverns. If you're lucky, you might even spot the Philippine long-tailed macaques, the Philippines’ only native monkey species. We’ll stop for snorkeling and beach BBQ lunch at the protected marine reserve. By late afternoon, we make our way back to camp for a well-earned rest.

For early risers, the day can begin with a traditional fishing trip alongside local fishermen, usually setting out around 5:00 AM. If you're lucky, you’ll catch the sunrise out on the water — a peaceful start to the day, with the island slowly waking up around you. On calm mornings, there’s even a chance of spotting dolphins or sea turtles, though nothing is guaranteed.

After breakfast, set out on a guided island walk with one of our team members. This relaxed nature and wildlife interpretation tour offers a deeper look into Patuyo’s landscapes, native plants, and ecosystems — and a chance to spot some of the island’s quieter wildlife. The terrain can be uneven and the midday heat intense, so we recommend wearing comfortable footwear and bringing plenty of water.

Around midday, you’ll head by boat to the nearby town of San Miguel for a short visit. One of our camp hosts will take you on a casual 45–60 minute tour of the village, offering a glimpse into daily life on a remote island — from the local school and small shops to the basketball court and harbor.

The rest of the afternoon is yours to spend as you like: swimming, reading, playing games, or simply relaxing in a hammock. As evening falls, we come together again for another shared dinner beneath the stars.

After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to Patuyo. We’ll begin the journey back to El Nido leaving the island-studded waters of Linapacan. Once we reach the mainland, a 40-minute drive will bring you back to El Nido, arriving in the afternoon.

We hope you leave with sandy feet, and a little more grounded than when you arrived.

Whether you joined us for the solitude, the connection, or the adventure — thank you for being part of island life, if only for a few days.

Let’s align expectations...

Itineraries

All our itineraries serve as guidelines rather than fixed schedules. We may occasionally adjust activities — either to enhance your experience or due to circumstances beyond our control, such as weather conditions, national holidays, or the unpredictable nature of operating in one of the most remote and off-grid regions of the Philippines.

Atmosphere

We host up to 25 overnight guests across our 7 native-style bungalows. During quieter seasons, you may find yourself sharing the island with just a handful of others or even having the camp almost to yourself. For some, that’s peaceful paradise; for others, it can feel very remote. Just know that the atmosphere shifts with the season. That's part of the experience.

Authenticity

Our wonderful team of local islanders runs this operation with minimal involvement from the management. This to make it as authentic as possible. While our team follows a shared set of guidelines, none of our islanders have formal job-related education, let alone experience in tourism. But what we may lack in training, we make up for in heart and hospitality.

Disembarkation

A short hike before reaching camp! We always aim to disembark as close as possible, but wind and weather may require us to land on the west or south side of the island. In that case, enjoy a scenic 30-minute hike to our place. Our team is on hand to assist along the way.

Delays

While we always aim to follow the showcased itinerary, weather and other unforeseen factors can occasionally cause delays. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you avoid booking any onward flights or long-distance travel on the same day you depart Patuyo. Having a buffer allows for a more relaxed and flexible travel experience.
